How to Book Your Driving Test

Before You Book
- To proceed, you will need your UK provisional driving licence number and your Theory Test pass certificate number. Payments are £62 for weekdays and £75 for evenings or weekends. Having your instructor's reference helps coordinate car availability.
We highly advise consulting your Delta instructor first to verify you have reached the required standard and to ensure the vehicle is free for your specific time slot.
How to Book Your Driving Test
- Access the official GOV.UK portal, enter your licence and theory certificate details, then select 'Car'. Choose your venue, date, and time before providing payment details to secure your slot.
Please note that the booking system often has a digital queue due to volume. Do not exit or refresh the window while waiting for your turn to book.
Choosing a Driving Test Centre
Slots for car tests are generally released up to 24 weeks ahead. The official service operates daily from 6:00 AM until 11:40 PM for all new learner bookings. Bolton students typically use the Weston Street centre.
Looking for an Earlier Test
If you require a sooner date, book the first available slot and check for cancellations on the GOV.UK site. You can change your booking up to six times online via the portal.
